FAQ
Frequently asked questions
The questions owners ask us most, answered without the jargon.
What is Knead Funds?
Knead Funds is an Australian business-finance guide and enquiry service. We explain cash-flow and working-capital funding in plain English, and a lending specialist helps match your enquiry with options that fit.
Does enquiring affect my credit score?
No. There is no credit check when you first enquire. A credit check only comes up if you choose to go ahead with an option.
How much can my business borrow?
Unsecured and cash-flow options for trading businesses are typically $5,000 to $500,000, sized on turnover and bank statements. Property-secured options run from $20,000 to $5,000,000. Every case is assessed individually.
How fast can I get the money?
Same-day funding is possible for smaller unsecured amounts, and larger property-secured amounts can sometimes move within 24 to 48 hours. Timing depends on the lender, the amount and how ready your documents are, so treat speed as possible and not promised.
Do I need to own property?
No. Unsecured and cash-flow options do not require property. Owning residential or commercial property opens the larger property-secured shelf, with the property at risk if the loan cannot be repaid.
Can I get funding with bad credit?
Past credit issues are considered case by case. Recent trading and a clear explanation of what happened count for a lot.
What about ATO debt?
ATO debt is also considered case by case. If you are struggling with a tax debt, the ATO is on 13 11 42 and the free Small Business Debt Helpline is on 1800 413 828.
What documents will I need?
Typically recent business bank statements, ID and your ABN or ACN. Property-secured funding adds property and mortgage details. You will be told exactly what is needed before you commit.
How much will it cost?
Every facility is priced on the individual situation, so we do not publish rates. Ask for the total cost in dollars over the full term, including fees, and compare options like for like.
Will my details go to lots of lenders?
No. A lending specialist reads your situation and matches it with care. Your details are not sprayed across a list of lenders.
Can I use the money for personal expenses?
No. Funding is for business purposes only.
What is a line of credit?
A limit you draw on and repay as you need, which suits repeating swings in cash flow. Our page on business lines of credit explains how it differs from a lump-sum loan.
What is a caveat loan?
A short-term, property-secured loan arranged by registering a caveat over a property. It suits urgent, short bridges with a clear exit. The property is at risk if the loan is not repaid.
Is the dough gap calculator an offer?
No. It is a planning estimate based on four numbers you enter. A lending specialist assesses your real situation.
Do you lend to new businesses?
Sometimes. A very short trading history means thin bank statements, which limits unsecured sizing, but property or a strong contract can help. Each case is assessed individually.
What happens after I enquire?
A lending specialist reads your enquiry and rings you, usually within business hours on the same or next business day, to talk through options.
Still unsure? Read our guides, try the Dough gap calculator, or make an enquiry and talk it through with a person.
